A Vacation To ALWAYS Remember

Being a woman that has experienced a life with infertility, you always dream about all of the wonderful things you want to do with a child once you have one. Well, I can definitely cross off these things off my list. After years of struggling with infertility and not knowing whether or not I would ever be able to have a child...... I was thrilled to FINALLY have the chance to take our little IVF miracle to the beach. We spent a week at Myrtle Beach and had a blast!! The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed every moment of the time we had together - Just the three of us! Cameron loved playing in the water, the sand and enjoyed the pool as well. He scrapped up his knee the first night there so I think that prevented him from going crazy with the ocean for about a day or two, but once his knee started feeling better......he went crazy! He would run into the ocean, run back out, build sandcastles, run into the water, look for shells, throw the shells and even throw the sand. He literally had a blast and we did too. It was WONDERFUL just seeing him explore the new surroundings and just enjoy something that he hasn't yet experienced or ever seen. Uh yeah, I took over 600 pictures so trying to figure out what pics to post was difficult, but here are just a few of my many favorites!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is Cameron running across the bridge over to the ocean. He had no idea what was waiting for him when he got over there, but trust me, he ran like crazy when he saw it.
This is the 1st picture that I took of him as the very first wave came up across his feet. As you can see...... he loved it!! He kept saying "Here comes more Mommy"
Look at that beautiful smile!!
He just loved everything about our vacation!
A family picture taken by a passerby. Look at Cameron's eyes! WOW - beautiful.
I love this picture of Cameron and I. Nothing more special then a bond between a Mother and her child. We do indeed have a very special bond.
I love the smiles that these two have. Shawn was running and Cameron just loved it!
What a beautiful boy resting his chin on his Daddy's head
Cameron's favorite form of transportation and you gotta love his new hat!
Mommy and Cameron looking for the perfect seashell - Look we found one!
Playing with some debris after a short 2 hour storm. Other then that 2 hour storm...... the weather was perfect!
He loved throwing the sand and as you can see "squeezing it". Gotta love the sand running down his arms!
This is the ONLY time he fell on his "bum" in the ocean. I was happy to have caught his reaction. Isn't it precious!?!
Cameron and Mommy feeding the ducks. He especially LOVED the white duck.
Looking for more shells as the sun sets for the night.
Hope you all enjoyed the pictures. I could share all 600 pictures with you, but you would literally be here forever. Hope you all can experience the greatness of this too!
Off to the Beach for Vacation
It has been a busy last couple of days here at our home. I have been a cleaning maniac and have accomplished quite a bit before leaving for the beach. Tomorrow we are heading south for a week in Myrtle Beach and I can't wait. It is a very long awaited and needed vacation for the 3 of us. I am so excited to take Cameron to the beach for the FIRST time ever and just watch him as he explores new and exciting things. He will love playing in the sand and I know he will totally love the water so it should be loads of fun. We are all packed so tomorrow afternoon we will take out of Ohio and head south for our 10 hour drive. We are hoping to stop along the way and sleep, but we will see. Anyway, I will see you all in a week!! Take Care........
Can you all take a moment to remember Collin as he heads in for brain surgery on Tuesday. Stellan is also experiencing more issues with SVT so if you could remember him in your prayers as well that would be great. Please pray that we make it safely to and from the beach and remember all of those other gals out there that have conceived miracle babies lately and are going through their months of being pregnant. Please pray that God has his hands upon all of these sweet babies!!
Vroom Vroom to Bed We Go!!
Last Friday was a busy day for us. We have a membership for our Zoo here in Columbus, Ohio as well as a membership to Zoombezi Bay which is the very nice waterpark attached to the zoo. We decided to take Cameron last Friday and we had so much fun. On our way home we stopped at Once Upon a Child to see if they had any beach shoes for our trip to Myrtle Beach. We were in luck...... they had beach shoes and we were so happy to find some that had the original tags on them. I was thrilled seeing as though we had looked everywhere and couldn't find them anywhere. I am not sure if any of you have ever been to Once Upon a Child, but it is a used clothing store along with strollers, cribs, toys and other various things. We normally go and pick up play clothes for Cameron there unless of course we find some real nice stuff then he will wear it for special occasions. I have been lucky a few times to find some great clothes. Levi jeans and shorts, Old Navy Clothes, Tommy shirts and pants to match, Gymboree and the list goes on. This past weekend we even saw this really neat car bed. I told my Mom that I wanted so bad to get it for Cameron and didn't have the money and she said that she wanted to buy it for him. It is a great transition bed from crib to toddler bed and he loves it. Is it not the cutest little bettle bug car bed you have ever seen? We picked it up for $67.00 and only with a few little scratches it looked brand new. We brought it home, cleaned it up and disinfected it just in case and now it is just perfect for him. THANKS MOM!! Cameron loves it!
I leave you today with this picture of Cameron. This is actually Cameron's excersaucer that we bought him when he was younger. We loved it because it is an activity center/excersaucer and walker in one. We got it back out for the little boy that I babysit during the week and well as you can see....... Cameron loves to use it. Here he is trying to just sit on the edge of the seat, but instead he slipped down into the seat and got stuck. It was so cute & funny when he did it.
You Are My Sunshine
I was so excited when I heard the news back on May 10, 2006 that I was pregnant and expecting! Oh after years of infertility treatments, I knew that I wanted nothing more then to be involved in my son's life from the moment he was conceived until I take my last breath. Well, I myself have always enjoyed the song "You Are My Sunshine" and I sang it to Cameron when he was growing in my belly. After Cameron was born.... I would sing that same song and it would ALWAYS help calm him down. He was never really a fussy baby, but when he would start to fuss, all I would have to do is sing "You Are My Sunshine" and he would just stare into my eyes and instantly calm down. Well, I still sing this song to him however...... I now have a singing partner. Yep, I can always be guaranteed that if I sing this song then Cameron will now sing along with me. Ah, there is nothing more precious then this. So, take a look at this video and enjoy "My Little Sunshine" and my little singer. Wow - I love this little boy!!
**Go to my music player and hit pause so you can hear the best singer around**
A Fun Filled Weekend with Our Precious Boy!
We went camping with Shawn's parents this weekend and had a nice time. It was pretty warm after we ran back and forth to the playground so we decided to let Cameron play in some water. Shawn's Mom and Dad had these plastic buckets that were just large enough to let Cameron play in it and cool off so we slipped off his clothes and let him go at it. He LOVED it! He loves the water and had so much fun. He would stand up and plop down in the water, stand up and plop down in the water and pretty much did that until all the water was gone. We took his diaper off to change him when he was done and I think his diaper must have weighed 50 lbs and all full of water. It was so funny!! Here are some pictures of him playing in the water bucket.
Whoa - I thought he fell, but he must have meant to do it because after that he kept going!
I love these pictures that I got of him. Gotta love seeing him SPLASH in the water!!
We also spent alot of time at the playground and he decided that he was going to act all grown up. He went down all the slides by himself, climbed the rock wall and pretty much everything else you could think of. He is such a BIG boy! I just really enjoyed watching him play and well you know how I am when it comes to my boy and taking pictures!! I love it!!!!
He loved the "curly" slide. Once he went down it once........ he wanted to go down it all the time!
This is the "tall" slide that he went down and he loved it as well. He said it tickled his belly!
Getting ready to enjoy a blue popsicle. Oh and yes....... the blue popsicle pretty much matched his pretty blue eyes! Isn't he just precious? Oh - I never knew love until someone called me Mommy! It is the most precious gift ever!!
There are the great pictures of the fun filled weekend that we shared with our precious boy!
Cameron's Favorite Toy & Something Special
It has been a busy day here, but I managed to get everything done and I am so thankful for that. Every day when Shawn gets home from school, he lays down on the floor and plays with Cameron. Well, as you can see, Cameron LOVES it and truly enjoys using Daddy as a jungle gym. He climbs on Daddy's back, over his head, onto his rear and then uses DH's tush for a drum. He totally cracks me up with his imagination. I think it is hilarious that he uses sweet hubby's tush for a drum. Anyway, I had to share some pictures with you of them playing. Oh and if you are wondering.....is Cameron still in his jammies at 4 in the afternoon? The answer is yes! His jammies have Mickey Mouse on them so you wouldn't dare think that he would take them off - would you? What is even more cute is that he had one work boot on earlier in the day and one of my winter gloves that went up past his elbow. How did he get my winter glove? Ah, yeah I have no idea, but he was totally cracking me up!! I love this age. I just love him to pieces!! We are in the middle of countdown to the beach....... oh yes, we have 18 days left and then we are heading to Myrtle Beach. WOOHOO - I can't wait. It should be lots of fun!
Ah, a sweet hug from Cameron before he starts to pounce on Daddy again!
Here is Cameron using Daddy's tush for a drum...... too funny!
Ah - Honey, are you ok? Are you alive?
This is the other something special that I wanted to share with you. This flower is planted next to the memory stone that we have in our flowerbed for the baby that we lost back in 2004. Well, if you look at the center of the flower..... you will see a heart right in the middle of the flower. Do you see it? I saw this after I took the picture and after I uploaded it to my computer. I saw it and it gave me chills. Just strange that it is right there beside the memory stone of our baby that we lost and the flower came up right beside it with a heart in the middle. I went back and looked at some of the others and this is the only one with the heart. Weird that I chose this one to take a picture of - huh? Kinda like a little sign for our lost child....... Mommy, I love you!
Watermelon Anyone?
We went to the grocery store yesterday and the watermelon was on sale so we grabbed us a seedless watermelon. Shawn cut it up and Cameron of course had to be the first to test it. Well, he loved it!! He has had it before, but normally never has a BIG piece like this all to himself. He was so excited and he felt like such a big boy! Isn't he took cute eating his watermelon? I sit and watch him throughout the day and evening and he is getting so big and is talking so much! He is indeed a little man with a mind of a genius. He is so smart and continues to amaze me every single day. He remembers things that I can't even remember and shows how smart he is on a daily basis. Gotta love my little watermelon boy!
